Happy Friday, dear reader! Can you believe another week just flew by? What even is time??

Were you able to get everything done this week that you wanted to? I know it can sometimes feel like there are more things to do than there are hours in any given week (especially if you’re not yet an early riser). That can feel overwhelming, especially if we aren’t prioritizing the myriad aspects of our lives.

Today, Five Minutes in the Morning suggests we look at the different areas of our life where we feel overwhelmed, or the areas never given the attention they deserve.

Choose from one of the following:

  • work
  • home
  • relationships
  • social life
  • health
  • finance
  • leisure time

Now, write the question “What is one thing I can do to make this part of my life/better/easier/more productive?”

Write for five minutes (or more!) and then make it a goal to do whatever it is you write about.

Here’s what I wrote:


I went straight to leisure time.

I’ve always struggled to relax, to get in the hammock. I do want to have productive leisure time – mindless scrolling doesn’t do it for me. Maybe it’s time to delete my social media again.

What about the blog? I’ve enjoyed the consistency with which I’ve been posting, but I know I need to put more of myself into it. It’s due to be renewed soon.

Is that something I want to renew? I don’t have to decide right now.

Right now, I just want to listen to the soft rains.
