“You are what your deepest desire is.
– Upanishads (Classic Ayurvedic texts)
As your desire is, so is your intention.
As your intention is, so is your will.
As your will is, so is your deed.
As your deed is, so is your destiny.”
I’m big on setting intentions.
Each night, one of the last things I do before I go to sleep is set the intentions for the following day. This way, my subconscious has all night to work on ways to align myself with my goals.
Once again, Five Minutes in the Morning validates a practice I’ve already been doing. Yay validation!
Today’s prompt encourages us to make a list of five intentions. Get quiet for a moment or two and really listen to what your heart is telling you. Write down whatever it tells you, making sure to keep them positive and written in the present tense. Then, select one (or two if you’re eXtRa like me) for the day.
Here’s what I wrote:
What matters to me most?
- Remembering my Divinity
- Remembering to play
- Being the light of the world
- Getting to work on time
- Not overspending
I set the intention to not overspend today. I want to spend for emotional security. I am aware of that. I set the intention to remember my Divinity. That will make all the difference.
This prompt also piggybacks on a previous post about planting the seeds of your intentions.
What intentions did you set today, dear reader? Share them in the comments below!
