“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.”

– William Arthur Ward

If there are two things I’ve found that supercharge your sense of well-being it’s awareness and gratitude.

Five Minutes in the Morning suggests you spend five minutes today thinking (and writing!) about all the things for which you’re grateful.

I start each day by listing at least ten things I’m grateful for.

It doesn’t have to be big things. Most of the times my list includes things like my legs that carry me to work, or public transportation, or Arby’s.

Here’s what I wrote for today’s prompt:

I’m grateful for the water that flows so freely & the gas that heats it so I can pour it over this teabag.

I am grateful for this place & my friends for letting me stay here.

I am grateful that I can understand things, & for when I can’t because I know it means I have more to learn, & I love learning.

I am grateful that I have a job – & my first cubicle!

I am grateful for all the shadow work I’ve been doing, & how I can notice the demons approaching & offer them a bit of awareness outside of the practice periods.

I am grateful to be the light of the world & to say so with humility & not arrogance – when I am acting as my highest expression of love & light how can I not be?

In the spirit of today’s post, I want to take a separate moment and express my gratitude for each and every one of your follows, likes and comments. When I started this site, I didn’t expect my words would resonate with so many, and I’m glad each day that I’ve been proven wrong.

Thank you!
