Waking soundtrack, vol. 7

Music is so powerful! It can transport you forward or backward in time. It can change your mood in an instant. We don’t deserve music.

I often wake up with music going through my head. This isn’t just in the morning; my nocturnal stumbles to the bathroom are often soundtracked by some tune that I forget as soon as my head hits the pillow again. For my own amusement, I’ve kept track of the tracks (I see what I did there) I’ve woken up to playing in my mind – when I can remember them. Now, I’d like to share them with you.

This is my waking soundtrack for the week of September 28 – October 4.

September 28

Stupid Love / Lady Gaga

I didn’t much care for this song at first; found it derivative, but grew on me, tho, which is more than I can say for most of Mother Monster’s latest offering.

I want to like it, and it annoys my favorite person in the world so much that I don’t. It’s kinda hilarious

SEPTEMBER 29

Cool Kids / Echosmith

This is what I imagine an edgier TayTay would sound like. I haven’t thought of this song since I spent a week at the aforementioned person’s dad’s beachouse.

SEPTEMBER 30

Boys of Summer / Don Henley

Still missing 80s night. 🙁

Incidentally, today was that aforementioned friend’s bday!

OCTOBER 3

Eurovision Song-Along / Various

When you’re done reading this, throw up the ‘flix and catch this latest Will Ferrel comedy.

I wish my life were a musical.

OCTOBER 4

Paper Rings / Taylor Swift

I wasn’t a fan of TayTay’s Lover either, buy this song is such a delightful lil ditty! I need to listen to folklore ASAFP.

This was a pretty good mix, and I hope you got some new music reccs, or this reminded you of some old faves. What songs were playing in your head this week? Have you ever participated in a song-along? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a wonderful Sunday, dear reader. Remember: Be kind. Be well. Be yourself.
